7 July 2010

This morning we said all of our goodbyes to the workers and again to the children- we did one last group picture with us and all of the kids. Then they loaded into big blue to go to school so we waved our “ I Love You’s” ( I taught the kids how to do the I Love You sign with their hands so we would always wave it to eachother especially when they were on big blue). We hugged Volume, Simon, Baby Girl, Little Rat, and Dee-Dee told them our goodbyes and we loaded into the Nissan and waved goodbye as we drove away. I always hate leaving my kids! I miss them so much! We got to Mutare stopped by AP’s flat to say our goodbyes to her and then headed to the boarding school to say our goodbyes to those kids, since they were in school we pulled them out of class said our goodbyes. Gave hugs, wiped tears, and talked for a moment.
We loaded back into the car and hit the road. We stopped at the halfway house for potty breaks, lunch and to buy some souviners. As we were walking back to the car Rafiki and I decided our souviners would be chocolate so we bought a few different candy bars to share and a soad each ( I love the wrappers from some of them.) We then got back to the car for the rest of our long stretch of our long drive. When we got into Harare we stopped by S’s house to give her a few things from AP then we stopped by DP’s house and also dropped off a few things to him. Then it was to our hotel to check in and then dinner.
We walked by Spar on the way to dinner and the police were sitting outside in this fenced area practicing there “band” songs- no joke it was like an orchastra of police men. They said the game ( semi-final between Germany and Spain) was on at 8:30 and they would have it playing on the tv so we decided to buy dessert after dinner and sit out and watch the game. We then walked to a bar/live music/cafĂ©/wireless internet place. So we all used the computer a bit then ate. This is where and when we met L. We were sitting there talking and a guy walks up to us and says sorry I was staring and couldn’t help it ( he looks like Luierant from Twilight) and he is flipping hilarious! We sat and talked with him. He was sp funny and we had such a great time talking, it was then time for us to leave so we could go watch the game.
We bought a drink and a sweet each and went outside and sat in our chairs to watch the game. The 3 of them decided to be for Germany and I was for Spain. The group of policemen stopped practicing when the game came on and sat on the chairs with us. Most of them were for Germany as well but I stood behind my team. We watched almost half the game but it was freezing outside so we walked back to the hotel to watch the rest of the game there. It was a good game- my Cinderella team won! I’m excited to watch the final and I will be back in the states to see it! We then said goodnight and went to bed- the latest we have stayed up yet It was actually pretty funny because at like 7:30 we were all pretty tired since it was 8 and MCH- pathetic for 4 young girls to be so tired and ready for bed at like8! 
MY HEART IS STAYING IN AFRICA!!!
