You'll be in my Heart
When I was in Africa I would sing this song to the kids all the time. It has a special meaning to me because "they will always be in my heart, this bond between us can't be broken" I love you kids!
You'll Be in My Heart
Come stop your crying
It will be all right
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
from all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry
For one so small,
you seem so strong
My arms will hold you,
keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry
'Cause you'll be in my hear
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always
Why can't they understand
the way we feel
They just don't trust
what they can't explain
I know we're different but,
deep in side us
We're not that different at all
And you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know
We need each other,
to have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know
When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and foreer more
Oh, you'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart, always
Always
Follow your heart and share your dreams along the way
The best gift ever!
For Christmas my two amazing friends got me a "Texas Box" that they made for me. It contained:
a 3 liter of sprite
a ton of big cups ( reese's peanut butter cup)
a Texas map
a "sombody in Texas loves me" bumber sticker
a stuffed opposum
a Texan santa
a can of bug spray
a Texas deck of cards
a Texas heart sticker
a bag of Texas size jelly beans
a bag of Texas shaped chips
a "How to speak Texan" book
a small texas flag
2 Texas ornaments
a Texas hat
a tin of Texas mints
an umbrella
a giant checker board game
and it all came in the cutest hat box!
I always joke and say how everything in Texas is bigger and I am finding that it is so they made sure to add some of those "bigger" things in it.
It was such a thoughtful and heart felt present I absolutely love it! Thank you so much C and D! You two are the best!!

Santa Clause is Coming to Town!
Today Annabel's school class went on a field trip to the mall to see Santa Clause. It was so much fun to see all the kids with him. He was such a very sweet, touching, kind man. He was the real deal, the real Santa, what an amazing mane! He was so good with each of the kids and really took his time to hold, talk to and love each of the children! When I went to get Annabel from him he had a tear in his eye and said, "she is such a precious girl!" It was so sweet! Annabel touches the hearts of all! Thank you Santa!

Snow in Texas!!
*UPDATE*
So I was told that I have wintessed history because this is the first time it has snowed two years in a row in Beaumont.. Also it did snow enough to ever so lightly coat the ground.
I am so excited it is snowing here in Beaumont! From what I am told this is a rare thing! C,C, Bella and I went out to get pictures and to play in it! If you look really close you can see it!

Ocean in Texas?!
So today on the way home from running some errands Cathy, Annabel and I stopped for lunch on the boardwalk on the bay. I kept referring to it as the ocean because I mean honestly all the water on the this planet meets up somewhere and there is no where in Utah where you can go sit and look out to the horizon and not see where the ocean ends and the sky begins! I LOVE IT!! The board walk had all sorts of rides and they even have a two level merry go round that I took Annabel on. Cathy thought I was like a little girl in candy shop because I was excited about everything, my dad always told me "simple minds simple pleasures". I had the best time and it was a great day, Thanks Cathy!
A view with "the lone star" (haha good times! inside joke)
Us on the merry go round
Boardwalk
The other side of the bay
The view from our table
This is painted on the wall of the resturant it is a scale with the different water levels of the hurricans that have hit. The Ike line is about 11 feet from the floor, amazing!

Take for granted
While in Africa I realized just how many things in my life I take for granted.. It was a really big eye opening experience for me to go there. Some of the big things I am greatful for are:
Running Water! They have to walk to the well to get water to bring back for bathing, cooking, cleaning, etc. If they didn't own a well or have access to one they would walk to the nearest little creek with thier buckets and soap. They would bathe in the creek then bring thier buckets full of water back home.
This is a picture of the another well they are digging for the orphanage, unforunately it has already dried up.
A Washer and Dryer! They wash loads of laundry a day then hang it to dry it is an all day activity especially since they use small towels and wash clothes as diapers the kids constantly leak onto thier clothes and thier bedding adding more loaundry
An Iron! They use a metal iron that they fill with hot ashes, I never thought of being grateful for my iron you plug in to the wall but for that I am!
Electricity Hello! The power of light is so amazing! Enough said!
Then agian maybe having all that stuff makes me to spoiled, I wonder how we would act here if we had less of the material things that we have.
